marchandises tout en faisant le bien<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-lead\">\n<li>Chaque ann\u00e9e, les chemins de fer du Canada transportent des millions de passagers et 70&nbsp;pour cent de toutes les marchandises intervilles, tout en produisant seulement 0,9&nbsp;pour cent des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre (GES) du Canada.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Et seulement 3,0&nbsp;pour cent des \u00e9missions de GES du secteur des transports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Les trains sont en moyenne de trois \u00e0 quatre fois plus \u00e9co\u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques que les camions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Une seule locomotive peut transporter une tonne de marchandises sur plus de 220&nbsp;kilom\u00e8tres avec un seul litre de carburant, retirant ainsi plus de 300&nbsp;camions de nos routes congestionn\u00e9es.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>De fa\u00e7on similaire, chaque train de voyageurs remplace des dizaines de voitures, r\u00e9duisant les \u00e9missions et am\u00e9liorant les temps de transit des passagers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:35%\">\n<figure style=\"flex-basis:95%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sur la voie pour aider le Canada \u00e0 r\u00e9duire ses \u00e9missions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Les chemins de fer marchandises et voyageurs peuvent jouer&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.railcan.ca\/fr\/?post_type=rc_infographic&amp;p=2603\">un r\u00f4le vital<\/a>&nbsp;pour aider le Canada \u00e0 respecter ses engagements internationaux en mati\u00e8re d\u2019environnement. &nbsp;Par exemple, le transfert de seulement 10 % du fret des camions vers le rail, r\u00e9duirait les \u00e9missions de GES d\u2019environ 3 m\u00e9gatonnes d\u2019\u00e9quivalent en dioxyde de carbone.&nbsp;Consultez le&nbsp;<a l\u2019ACFC<\/a>&nbsp;pour en savoir davantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De plus, nos chemins de fer recherchent continuellement \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer leur durabilit\u00e9. &nbsp;L\u2019ACFC et ses membres ont sign\u00e9 un protocole d\u2019entente avec Transports Canada et Environnement Canada en 1995 afin de r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions des locomotives. &nbsp;Dans le cadre de cet accord, le&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.railcan.ca\/fr\/initiatives-de-lacfc\/programme-de-surveillance-des-emissions-de-locomotives\/\">Programme de surveillance des \u00e9missions des locomotives (SEL)<\/a>&nbsp;a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en \u0153uvre et, gr\u00e2ce aux renouvellements ult\u00e9rieurs du protocole d\u2019entente, il continue de fournir une plate-forme pour g\u00e9rer les GES et les principaux \u00e9missions de GES \u2013 l\u2019empreinte carbone relativement au trafic ferroviaire \u2013 de 28,6 pour cent, tandis que les chemins de fer interurbains ont r\u00e9duit l&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 de leurs \u00e9missions de GES de 34,2 %.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les chemins de fer du Canada \u00e9laborent des plans proactifs et ambitieux pour am\u00e9liorer davantage le rendement du carburant et d\u00e9carboner leurs op\u00e9rations.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.railcan.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Vers-le-net-zero-elaborer-une-Feuille-de-route-pour-la-decarbonisation-du-secteur-ferroviaire-au-Canada.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">L\u2019Initiative Rail Pathways \u2013 \u00c9laborer une Feuille de route pour la d\u00e9carbonation du secteur ferroviaire du Canada<\/a>&nbsp;pr\u00e9cise comment les chemins de fer peuvent mettre \u00e0 l\u2019essai des technologies faibles en carbone \u00e9mergentes et mettre en \u0153uvre celles qui sont les plus prometteuses pour l\u2019avenir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les chemins de fer canadiens continuent \u00e0&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.railcan.ca\/fr\/101\/investment\/\">investir des milliards de dollars<\/a>&nbsp;dans l\u2019infrastructure et ach\u00e8tent de nouvelles locomotives, plus \u00e9co\u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques, afin de respecter le R\u00e8glement sur les \u00e9missions des locomotives du Canada. &nbsp;Ils s\u2019engagent \u00e0 cr\u00e9er un syst\u00e8me de transport qui am\u00e9liore le d\u00e9placement des marchandises et des voyageurs et qui renforce continuellement le bien-\u00eatre \u00e9conomique
