Rail 101

The Railway Association of Canada (RAC), would like to invite you to participate in the upcoming Rail 101 sessions. These sessions will be taking place for a three hour period over 2 days, July 4-5, 2022. The purpose of these sessions is to help educate participants on rail operations and track maintenance. Many of you will know about the RAC’s Railway Operations Live course that usually takes place in person, however, due to COVID, we are moving virtual for this session. Railway Operations Live will return to in person this fall. Day 1 will be focused on railway operations such as switching, operating a locomotive and the movement of equipment. Day 2 will be focused on track maintenance and the components needed for track maintainers to do their job.

Our extremely knowledgeable instructors from Canadian Heartland Training Railway Services (CHTRS), have filmed on-site at Essex Terminal Railway in Windsor, ON, in advance of our sessions. We will be playing it back and the instructors will be available to answer any questions you may have. Once you have registered, the meeting links will be sent to you closer to the date.
