President and Chief Executive Officer

The Railway Association of Canada (RAC) is proud to have freight, both Class 1 and short line, as well as passenger, commuter and tourist railways among its members. In total, its 50 Rail members employ more than 35,000 people and operate approximately 62,000 km of main line track. The RAC also has over 45 associate members who are suppliers to and partners of the Rail members.

The role of the RAC is to inform government officials, develop programs, policies and resources, and respectfully communicate with the public and media, in order to ensure the Rail industry continues to be an enabler for the economy, a green solution for the environment, the safest mode of surface transportation, and an innovative business.

Due to the upcoming retirement of the incumbent CEO, the RAC is seeking a new leader. As a well-qualified candidate for this position, you have a solid understanding of government policy. You are highly respected by a wide range of government officials, including those who have an impact on Rail policy. Your substantial energy and a genuine drive to get things done is coupled with a strategic approach to issues management, including proactively remaining connected with people and staying on top of developments before they become issues.
